26 March 2025 - Production Release Notes
The verified versions of the Higher Education Research Training Program (HDR Students) Scholarship and Higher Education Course Completions (HDR Students) reports have been released in TCSI Analytics.
The verified reports will have the same features as announced in the February newsletter, and share the same coding notes as the live and verification versions of the report.

CHESSN Notifications Removed
The removal of the CHESSN notifications aligns with previous communications supplied in the TCSI February 2024 Provider Webinar and the March 2024 Newsletter as we look to reduce the visibility of CHESSNs for providers while CHESSNs are phased out.
As previously advised, for the system to identify a student TCSI will require either a verified tax file number (TFN) or a verified Unique Student Identifier (USI). If both TFN and USI are supplied, both must verify for TCSI to identify the student.
If the system is unable to identify the student, no HELP entitlements can be allocated, and both the provider and student will not be able to view available balances in the myHELPbalance portal.
Providers will continue to be able retrieve CHESSNs from TCSI Data Entry Portal and via APIs.

New Gender Codes added to the Production and Test Environment
As advised in the February 2025 Newsletter, the E315: Gender code has been updated to the following allowable values:

Providers can start using the new values in production and test from Friday 28 February 2025, with values becoming part of the reporting requirements for the 2026 student and staff collections.

New live data and verification reports have been released that will give Table A and Table B providers visibility of the RTP scholarship support that they have awarded to their students.

USI verification period extended from 6 weeks to 12 weeks
When a USI remains unverified and the 12-week verification period has ended, a new USI verification process can be started by patching a student’s details regardless of whether the patch results in a change to the student’s data.

Reporting of CHESSNs to TCSI
- Providers can no longer report, amend, or delete a student’s CHESSN. If a CHESSN is reported, amended or deleted from a student record, the action will not be stored in TCSI, and no fatal validation will be generated.

To ensure the highest level of accuracy when identifying students, a CHESSN will no longer be allocated to a student record until there is a verified E416: Tax File Number (TFN) or a verified E584: Unique student Identifier (USI). 2 February 2024 - Production Release Notes
A number of validations have been added and amended to align with enhancements to the Student Learning Entitlements Management System (SLEMS), which manages the Student Learning Entitlement policy.
Real-time validations 10921 and 10922 have been added to address outstanding issue 238211. The validations permit remission of units with a $0 HELP loan but return a warning so providers can confirm the fee information was not accidentally removed.
A new warning 10923 has been added to inform providers when a unit reported results in the student’s available SLE amount being equal to or less than 2.0 SLE.
In addition, there has been work on backend maintenance, enhancements and resolving individual provider issues.

Three new RTVs have been introduced to prevent providers from amending or deleting historic loans where the TFN has not been recently verified.
