TCSI Update - Temporary re-opening of the HDR end user engagement packet
The HDR end-user engagement packet was re-opened with the 2021 format on 4 April 2022. That means HDR end-user engagements can now be removed or revised with the same elements and allowable values as per the reporting requirements on the 2021 packet.
The HDR end-user engagement packet has been re-opened so providers can resolve reporting conflicts with 2021 HDR completions. Please ensure all potential conflicts are resolved before 4 May 2022 when the HDR end-user engagement packet will be disabled.
To identify potential conflicts, providers can:
- Identify HDR end-user engagement packets reported with an HDR end-user engagement effective to date (E610) that is:
- not null, AND
- is greater than 1 January 2021 (E610 = 2021-01-01)
NOTE: The engagement packets identified in step 1 can cause a conflict when reporting a 2021 completion date.
- Identify course admissions linked to each engagement from step 1
- Check if the course admissions from step 2 were completed in 2021
- IF NO, no action is required before 4 May 2022
- IF YES, go to step 4.
- Check if the Course Outcome Date (E592) is after the HDR end-user engagement effective to date (E610)
- IF NO, no action is required before 4 May 2022
- IF YES, go to step 5.
- Revise the HDR end-user engagement effective to date (E610) to:
- “Null”, OR
- a date that is on or before the Course Outcome Date (E592).
If you find that your HDR End User Engagement packets are not at risk of causing a conflict with a 2021 completion, then there is no work required by the 4 May 2022 shutoff date. The end-user engagement data collected for 2021 will not be published by the University Statistics team and is not part of any funding calculations.
Null is not an acceptable value for the Higher Degree by Research End-User Engagement Code (E593). To remove the information, systems should delete the whole end user engagement packet.
