NILThe Unit of study commencement date is the date that the Provider first expects students to engage in learning and assessment activities. In most cases, this would fall in the first week of the relevant study period, however there may be cases where this date falls outside of the first week.
For students who are expected to commence learning activities within two weeks of the start of the academic term or semester, Unit of study commencement date is the first day of the academic term or semester in which the unit of study is delivered.
For students who are not expected to commence learning activities within the first two weeks of the start of the academic term or semester, the Unit of study commencement date is the first day the Provider expects the student to commence learning activities. For example, for a Bachelor of Science, the units might normally commence in week 1, however Applied Physics 1.01 deviates from this, and actually starts in week 3. For Applied Physics 1.01, the Unit of study commencement date would be the relevant day in week 3.
VET providers may report the ‘Activity start date’, as specified in the AVETMISS data element definitions with the format of YYYY-MM-DD.
