HDR end-user engagement packet 2024
Version Details
- Version:
- 2.00
The HDR end-user engagement packet is used to report one or more end-user engagements for a student who undertook a higher degree by research (HDR) course and the timeframes associated with each engagement. A provider may create multiple HDR end-user engagement packets to report multiple end-user engagements that a student undertook throughout their course and the timeframes that apply to each engagement (see Reporting effective dates guide for overlapping engagements).
Scope
Providers are required to report one or more HDR end-user engagement packets for a student who:
- undertook an end-user engagement as part of their HDR course
- completed their HDR course on or after 1 January 2022.
When a student transfers to a related at-level course (e.g. from a research masters to a related research masters, or a research doctorate to a related research doctorate), any end-user engagement undertaken prior to the transfer can be reported against the HDR from which the student transferred.
When a student transfers from a research masters to a research doctorate course, any end-user engagement undertaken prior to the transfer should not be reported against the research doctorate completion record but may be reported against the related HDR from which the student transferred.
The deadline for providers to report HDR end-user engagement packet/s is on completion of a student’s HDR course.
Initial reporting requirement

E610: HDR end-user engagement effective to date | Required for all in-scope engagements | 7 days after the student completed their course. |
*These elements must be reported together when a new HDR end-user engagement packet is created
Revising data
A provider can correct the data in a HDR end-user engagement packet after the initial packet is reported. All values on a HDR end-user engagement packet are to be correct as at the current date or the course outcome date (E592).
