It’s Cyber Security Action Month. |
Cyber Security Action Month is an annual opportunity for Australians to think differently about cyber security. This year’s cyber security theme is ‘Take a second. Stay secure’ and highlights the simple but important role that everyday decisions play in keeping ourselves, our workplaces, and our communities safe online. By taking a moment to pause and think before we click, share, or respond, we can all contribute to a more secure digital environment.
Campaign resources are available on the Campaigns and Events page of the National Office of Cyber Security (NOCS) website, where providers can access a range of downloadable materials, including the Stakeholder Toolkit containing campaign messaging, social media tiles, posters, and other resources to support cyber security awareness activities throughout October.
Provider support in sharing these resources throughout Cyber Security Action Month will help amplify the campaign, raise awareness of cyber security behaviours everyone can adopt, and encourage more Australians to stay secure online.
To assist in staying secure, TCSI Support would like to remind providers to follow data privacy and TCSI access security guidelines. Providers should continue to consider their obligations under the 13 Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 when sending data via email. More information regarding data privacy can be found in the Privacy Reminder article in the TCSI July Newsletter 2026.
Providers should also regularly review staff access to TCSI services and data access lists. Delegates responsible for assigning PRODA attributes are encouraged to ensure attributes remain active and are assigned only to staff with an appropriate role or function. In addition, when accessing TCSI services through PRODA, the use of long, unique passphrases can help keep accounts secure and reduce the risk of compromise.
