TCSI Newsletter May 2021

DESE and Services Australia recently wrote to Vice-Chancellors/Chief Executive Officers to thank each institution for all their work in transitioning to TCSI. We have all faced many challenges during this journey of change, including the pressures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To assist in adopting this new approach to reporting, the TCSI team has facilitated 2 roadshows and delivered just under 100 webinars and around 50 news campaigns. Just over 280 providers have now onboarded to TCSI since we went live in December 2020.

The final step now to fully transition to TCSI is to complete the reporting of your 2021 data to date and commence event-based reporting from 31 May 2021. This will ensure providers are compliant with the 2021 reporting requirements and data is available to support students who are accessing HELP and VET Student Loans and seeking study payments.

We appreciate your commitment and collective efforts in implementing event-based reporting in TCSI. This is now facilitating genuine opportunities to improve outcomes for students.

On Monday 31 May 2021, the department will take a full-year snapshot of your institution's verified student data set. This snapshot will be used for 2020 funding reconciliations, publications and statistics.

We will send a copy of your institution's snapshot to you within 3 to 5 business days via our FTP server to ensure data security. You must be previously registered in HEIMS to be able to receive your verification snapshot via the FTP server.
