The TCSI Newsletter helps to keep our Higher Education and VET Student Loans providers up to date with the TCSI environment and transition.

We have an exciting year ahead for all providers and the TCSI project.

Co-design on the TCSI solution started in 2018. Providers began preparing and testing their own systems and processes in 2019 and through 2020.

We are now at the finish line! The first months of 2021 will be when all your preparation pays off.

We look forward to joining you in delivering a modern reporting system that can better support students.

Onboarding webinars

The TCSI onboarding webinar series is tailored for your provider type and your transition date. We will cover initial onboarding steps, discuss your progress, and will be available to answer your questions.

There are also opportunities to hear the challenges being faced by other providers in your sector and learn from their experiences.

Your organisation is required to have at least one representative attending each webinar, but more attendees are always welcome. Reserve your places now by registering for the webinars targeted to your transition here.

For example, a VSL provider planning to transition to TCSI in March, should register for all four VET Student Loan provider webinars at 1pm on February 10th, 17th, 24th, and March 3rd.

Tell us if your transition date has changed

So that we can adequately support your transition it is essential that you keep us apprised of any change in your expected TCSI transition date.

If your date changes, or if you have not yet provided us with an expected transition date, please email the TCSI Support team TCSISupport@dese.gov.au with your most current expected transition date.

Keeping us informed allows us to better help you, and to ensure you are compliant with your legislative obligations.

Viewing your data during transition

Following the release of TCSI in December 2020 all HELP and student entitlement reports should only be accessed in TCSI Analytics.

The HELP and entitlement reports in HEIMS Online only display data that was accurate as at 10 December 2020, prior to the release of TCSI and the implementation of the new entitlement process (StEME).

Over the December-January holiday period as our department systems have been transitioning to TCSI there have been some interruptions to the updating of the HEIMS Online reports.

The latest submission data is now available from TCSI Analytics. TCSI Analytics is now the source of truth for HELP Loan information.

Partially updated data reports in HEIMS Online

HEIMS Online will continue to show data that has been uploaded through HEPCAT. However it is important to note that your HEIMS Online reports will not include up to date HELP loan information or the result of TFN verification as these processes now occur in TCSI.

Note: Providers that have not yet transitioned to TCSI can continue to use TFN LookUp Report in HEPCAT to verify students TFNs. The TFN LookUp report will continue to display accurate information on students whose TFN and personal details were submitted in the TFN LookUp File in HEPCAT but could not be verified by the ATO.

You can also view your latest data by requesting a data extract. Details are at the bottom of the Transitioning to TCSI page.

TCSI Data Entry will be updated after you have transitioned to TCSI. Your records will not appear in TCSI Data Entry if you are still reporting via HEPCAT.
