TCSI webinars will recommence in February 2025.

The TCSI Support team will resume optional fortnightly drop-in sessions from 12 February 2025, with the first TCSI Monthly webinar to be held on 26 February 2025.

All scheduled 2025 monthly TCSI webinars are now available for registration on the TCSI News Centre webpage. These sessions are an excellent opportunity to get up-to-date information and to ask any questions you might have about TCSI.

The TCSI Support safe mode guide has been updated to provide further assistance and understanding regarding safe mode.

Safe mode prevents TCSI from sending loan data to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), this includes new loans, updated loans, loan reversals and remissions. Safe mode can also be used to prevent unintended loan transactions being sent to the ATO during high-risk scenarios such as updating or transitioning to a new Student Management System.

The ‘Understanding safe mode in TCSI’ guide was originally designed to assist providers to understand the purpose of safe mode during their transition and onboarding to TCSI. The guide has been updated and redesigned to also include information on the usefulness of safe mode to providers during their near-real time reporting.

Providers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new guide and contact TCSISupport@education.gov.au should they have any questions or would like to discuss utilizing safe mode to support their organisation’s reporting.

The TCSI Analytics Critical Loan Error Dashboard has now been released.

As part of the TCSI Renewal Project, the department has developed the Critical Loan Error Dashboard to enhance data quality and higher education loan monitoring. The dashboard is designed to assist providers in prioritising and resolving critical scheduled validation loan data errors that affect the transfer of student loans to the Australian Taxation Office. It also highlights seriously late reported loans that may impact student well-being. A ‘seriously late’ loan warning is generated when a record is submitted or changed after the loan was due to be indexed by the Australian Taxation Office, or within 6 weeks of the first indexation event for the loan.
