Extension of TCSI call durations

TCSI B2G API call durations have been extended.

TCSI B2G API call durations were extended on 28 August 2026, to increase the maximum call duration from 60 seconds to 120 seconds. The extension is expected to reduce incidences of timeout messages and resolve Outstanding Issue in Production #886671.

Additional information on TCSI timeouts was presented during the TCSI August Provider webinar on 26 August 2026.

TCSI developers in the GovTEAMS community were previously consulted on the plan to extend the call. If you or a colleague did not receive the consultation and would like to be added to the GovTEAMS community, please submit a TCSI developer registration form.

For Higher Education Providers

Publishing requirements for 2027 Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) information

SSAF information must be published by 1 October 2026.

Higher education providers that charge a SSAF must publish information about 2027 SSAF arrangements on their website by 1 October 2026. The information must include the SSAF amount, the period to which the fee relates, the categories of students required to pay the fee and the due date for the payment.

The maximum SSAF for full-time students in 2027 is set at $386. This maximum amount is indexed annually and published on the Department of Education 2027 Indexed Rates webpage.

Students studying on a part-time basis must not be charged more than 75 per cent of the maximum SSAF determined by the provider for full-time students. The maximum SSAF for part-time students in 2027 is $289.50.

A student is studying on a part-time basis if their study load is less than 75 per cent of a normal full-time study load for the period to which the fee relates. Providers cannot round this amount up as this would exceed the 75 per cent rule.
