Coding notes

Refer to: Appendix D - Australian Standard Classification of Languages (ASCL).

To record that a student/applicant speaks only English at a permanent home residence use 0001 rather than the ABS code of 1201.

Code 8000 may be used to report an Indigenous Australian language where the individual language is not known or identified.
