The VET Student Revisions (VSR) submission provides the mechanism to report changes to data elements reported to DEEWR on the VET Student Load/Liability File as part of the VET Student submission.
The VSR submission reports details of deletions or changes due to administrative error and remission of VET FEE-HELP debts.
The records must relate to a record previously reported to DEEWR.
TIMING
Student revisions may be reported at any time.
STRUCTURE
Each record on the VSR submission must be submitted with the same unique values as previously reported for the following elements:
- Student identification code (E313)
- Course code (E307)
- Unit of study code (E354)
- Academic organisational unit code (E333)
- Unit of study census date (E489)
a) Types of units of study for which records are to be included
-
Remission/re-crediting of a person’s VET FEE-HELP balance in special circumstances (E446 Variation reason code = 1).
Details of remissions must be reported in the VSR submission at all times.
If a unit of study is remitted after the census date, but prior to reporting the VET Student submission, the original record must be reported on the VLL file as part of the student submission and the subsequent remission must then be reported in the VSR submission.
- Revisions due to administrative error E446 Variation reason code = 2.
-
Deletions due to an administrative error E446 Variation reason code = 4.
If revisions where E446 Variation Reason Code = 2 or 4 are processed prior to being reported to DEEWR, the revised details can be reported in the VET student submission. There is no requirement in these circumstances to report the original record and then a revised record in the VSR submission.
b) Types of units of study for which records are to be excluded
The VSR submission is to exclude student records which have not previously been reported to DEEWR. These records should be submitted through the normal student submission process.
