Verification of higher education 2021 student data

The new interface for verifying Higher education student data will be available in TCSI Analytics from Thursday 4 August.

Verification is due by 3 September 2022 for the higher education student collections.

There will be an outage for the TCSI Analytics portal tomorrow Wednesday 3 August from 9am to 11am (AEST). This outage will release the new verification functionality, but it will not be available to all providers until Thursday 4 August.

Verification is part of the reporting requirements under HESA and is a declaration that the data reported for 2021 is complete, accurate and finalised. The department uses the verified data to reconcile your funding and to publish information on your organisation, including data on course completions and success rates.

The verification process gives you a final opportunity to check your data carefully, as changes cannot be made to 2021 publication datasets after verification.

Thank you to all the providers who prepared for verification by addressing scheduled validations and checking live reports in TCSI Analytics. If errors are newly identified in your verification reports please refer to the data packets for details on how to make corrections in TCSI.

To assist you with understanding this new process the Verification User Guide and coding notes for each of the reports are available from the Higher Education Data Verification section on the TCSI Analytics | TCSI Support website.

We will continue to hold webinars and drop-in sessions to address your verification questions. The 22 June webinar included a walkthrough of the verification functionality and you can register to access the recording of that webinar. Advice on further webinars will be provided on TCSI Support HELP and support page.

If you have any questions relating verification, please email us at TCSIsupport@dese.gov.au.
