Proposed change to PRODA B2B Device Activation code expiration

This message is only for vendors and providers that use TCSI APIs to send data to TCSI.

Proposed change: to reduce the time to live expiry of the PRODA B2B Device Activation Code (DAC) from 7 days to 60 minutes. The change will not affect services or other PRODA related functions.

Purpose: the change is to address fraud risk assessment treatments and provide improved system security.

Background: A PRODA B2B device enables an organisation in PRODA to authenticate using their software developer product. PRODA B2B device registration, activation and renewal must be performed manually by an authorised member of the organisation in PRODA. This requires the authorised member to generate a Device Activation Code (DAC) for their device. The DAC is used to activate the device for a period of 6 months. Currently, the DAC time to live expiry is 7 days.

Action Required: for more information or to advise of any concerns regarding this change, please respond to TCSISupport@education.gov.au by 4pm AEDT, Wednesday, 3 April 2024.
