2026 Higher Education Data Collections
The 2026 Ministerial Notice has been released defining mandatory data submission deadlines and providing additional clarity for some data elements to support higher education providers.
The 2026 data submission deadlines are summarised below:

The change control document includes details about allowable values for Element 315 Gender Code, as advised in the TCSI February Newsletter 2025 newsletter. The value ‘X - Indeterminate/Intersex/Unspecified’ will still be reportable in 2026, but is expected to be retired after 2026. Providers are encouraged to work with current students to ensure their records reflect the continuing allowable values and their meanings.
