We have contacted Vice Chancellors and/or CEOs to advise them about the following changes to the reporting requirements for the 2021 Higher Education Student Data Collection. |
These changes were made to support the implementation of the Australian Government's Job Ready Graduates (JRG) package of higher education reforms.
Three existing data elements have been updated to support the new JRG arrangements.
- Two new codes have been added to the Maximum Student Contribution Code (E392) to implement the new grandfathering arrangements for Commonwealth supported students and identify unit enrolments in Professional Pathway Psychology or Professional Pathway Social Work.
- The previous discount codes on the Student Status Code (E490) will be reinstated to meet the 10% upfront discount requirements:
- Code ‘202’ will be used for students who are eligible for a discount and paying all their student contributions upfront for a census date.
- Code ‘203’ will be used for students who are not eligible for a discount and paying all their student contributions upfront for a census date.
- Code ‘23’ will be introduced to the Course of Study Type (Element 310) to identify students studying in undergraduate short course places. The existing code 11 on this element will continue to be used for Graduate Certificates.
There were also a small number of changes that were formalised in the update. Including the fields of research applying the 2020 classification and reporting in HEPCAT in 2021 for certain university collections (applications and offers and staff).
The details of these changes are included in the 2021 TCSI Change Control Document which can be found on the 2021 Higher Education reporting requirements page.
